Hotel “No Name”, New Kaza

Near Police Station, Kaza, Spiti, India

Location – 6/10 We were situated in New Kaza near to the police station. It was about 15 minutes walk into the “town” area where you would find shops, market stalls and places to eat. There was nothing much around us so it was pretty quiet all the time and we had a nice view of the mountains.

Facilities – 3/10 It was a very basic room. We had a big comfy bed as well as extra bedding. The room also had a balcony as well as a table and chairs. There was no Wi-Fi or food services.

Value – 5/10 We paid for our room here with our Great Escapes package so I am unable to give an accurate score. I do not know how much they charge per night for two people but personally, I would pay no more than Rs.800 per night for two people.

Cleanliness – 4/10 It was a brand new hotel, so new that it doesn’t have a name yet! For a brand new hotel it was in a pretty shocking state so honestly I don’t know how long it will last. The interiors of the rooms were complete botch jobs, as if someone has said you’ve got 30 mins to decorate this room!

Comfort –  6/10 We did sleep well and it was in a quiet area also which was good. Extra bedding was a nice touch as it was noticeably colder here.

Overall – 4.8/10 To be honest it might be kind of pointless even doing this review as there is no way to find this place on the web and it would be a struggle to find it in person unless you knew where you are going or if it becomes more developed.  It is a basic budget hotel with a comfy bed and not too far away from the town. I only ever saw one staff member here who was the owner but there was no element of customer service or even conversation. Good place for a short stop in transit to the next destination.
